The TPO that redefines the standard

Parasolo® TPX™ is the advanced TPO membrane engineered by Siplast to deliver outstanding heat-weldability and reflectivity. But we didn't stop there. We built it with exceptional resistance to punctures, tears, and impacts.* This TPO doesn’t just meet industry standards—it transcends them. With weathering capabilities up to 5.5 times greater than the ASTM G155 standard† and robust seam strength exceeding the ASTM D6878 standard. Above all, Parasolo® TPX™ is the only TPO that passes Siplast standards.

Parasolo PVC KEE: Performance and protection, perfected by chemistry

Parasolo® PVC KEE is the premium PVC membrane engineered by Siplast to deliver ultimate thermoplastic roof membrane protection. Our chemical formulation consists of a high-quality combination of PVC and KEE plasticizers incorporated with Elvaloy®* copolymer, a non-migrating solid flexibilizer. The result is a membrane that provides exceptional resistance against weathering, chemicals,†  and UV exposure while maintaining its low temperature flexibility. With the toughness and customizable solutions for complex roof designs and challenging environments. That’s how performance and long-term protection is powered by chemistry.

Parasolo PVC: Engineered for excellence

Siplast Parasolo® PVC membranes are engineered for long-term performance in the most challenging environments. Our advanced formulation harnesses the inherent protection of PVC against chemicals,  oil, and grease,* resulting in a membrane that helps endure more. Delivering outstanding strength, flexibility, and thermoplastic properties where it's needed most, with exceptional long-term weathering and UV resistance proven in ASTM D4434 and G155 testing. Plus, it offers excellent fire performance compared to other non-PVC single-ply roofing technologies.
* Elvaloy® is a registered trademark of DuPont™.

Bar chart comparing thickness standards, showing that while ASTM allows a 60-mil product to be 54 mils, a Siplast True Thickness 60-mil sheet is 62 mils.

True Thickness options

ASTM standards for thermoplastic membranes allow for significant thickness variation, up to 10%. This means that a 60-mil product can have an actual thickness of 54 mils. Siplast offers True Thickness options for both Parasolo PVC and KEE sheets which must be special ordered. For example, a Siplast True Thickness variant of 60-mil sheet will have an average thickness of 62 mils. For more information or to order a Siplast True Thickness membrane, contact your Siplast representative.

Specifying the hybrid assembly

SBS brings the multi-layer redundancy, while PVC/PVC KEE provides the reflectivity and resistance to elements. Add on the advantages of phased construction and the advantages are multi-ply’d.

A deconstructed, view of a Siplast hybrid roof assembly, showcasing the multi-layered system, including a Parasolo single-ply cap sheet and a Paradiene SBS-modified bitumen base ply.

Performance isn’t added. It’s multi-ply’d.

For projects demanding the ultimate in durability and protection, Siplast offers a hybrid roof assembly that delivers on all fronts. It combines the elongation and recovery properties of a Siplast Paradiene® SBS-modified bitumen base ply with the advanced chemical formulation of a Parasolo® single-ply cap sheet. The result is a system with multi-layer redundancy and increased impact and puncture resistance.* The elastomeric base ply absorbs roof stresses while the Parasolo® cap sheet shields the system from the elements and provides exceptional reflectivity. Another advantage is that a hybrid assembly allows for phased construction, providing greater flexibility for your project timeline. Siplast doesn't just sell this system—we trust it so much that it’s installed on one of our warehouses.

Considerations for single-ply roofing

A building’s location, function, and other characteristics, such as roof access points, drainage, and local building codes, all play a significant role in determining which single-ply roofing system would be the best option.

Compatibility with existing roof structures

Different single-ply membranes are made from different polymers, so it's important to confirm chemical compatibility with the existing roof.

Compliance with building codes and regulations

Ensure that the roofing system complies with local building and fire codes, zoning laws, and local ordinances that could affect working hours.

Appropriate insulation and drainage systems

A well-designed polyiso tapered insulation board creates a slope towards drainage points, while strategically placed roof drains ensure efficient water flow off the roof, preventing ponding.

Frequently asked questions

Single-ply roof membranes serve as the primary protective layer for the roof. While they are designed for durability, heavy foot traffic or activities on the roof can wear on the surface over time. If your roof is expected to experience heavy foot traffic or other intensive use, you may want to consider a multi-ply system. In these systems, the primary roof protection lies beneath a finished surface ply, offering enhanced durability for high-traffic areas.
Yes, single-ply roof systems can be walked on. However, depending on the type and volume of foot traffic, a single-ply roof can be supplemented with further protection, such as using a thicker 80-mil membrane or walkway protection pads. If the roof system is expected to get routine or frequent traffic, then a multi-ply SBS-modified bitumen roof system may be a more suitable solution.
Most single-ply membranes come with one of two types of surface backings - smooth or fleeceback. While fleeceback membranes can provide enhanced durability, they also have certain installation restrictions. Ensure you are choosing the right membrane surfacing type for your application. If you have questions contact a Siplast representative to be connected to Design Services.
A single-ply roofing system may be covered under a manufacturer's warranty or guarantee for anywhere from 15-35 years, depending upon the thickness of the membrane and the method of attachment.*
