Challenge
Reroofing a 25-year-old, 87-unit social housing apartment building in downtown Vancouver with minimal disruption to the building's occupants was the basic goal for this community-enhancing project. Additionally, there was a desire to use materials that would contribute to Vancouver's initiative to reduce damage from air pollution.
Solution
- Two-ply Siplast SBS-modified bitumen system with cap sheet surfaced with Eco-Activ’s depolluting Noxite® granules provided the ideal solution
- Eco-Activ’s Noxite technology was chosen to help neutralize harmful noxious oxides polluting the local urban air
- Torch-grade material avoided hot asphalt fumes, minimizing disruption to tenants
