Paraboard™ Products

About Paraboard™ products

Paraboard™ HD consists of a base sheet coated with an SBS-modified bitumen and surfaced with a silica parting agent.

Paraboard™ HD Pro consists of a base sheet coated with SBS modified bitumen, then surfaced with a proprietary Syntan® acrylic coating.

Paraboard™ panels help save on time and labor, by eliminating the steps required for individual adhesion of roof components below the cap sheet membrane. With certain applications, the panels can be used for temporary repairs on damaged roofs, or with new construction projects before the final roof assembly can be installed, allowing interior work to get started before the completed roof is ready. The SBS-modified bitumen membrane provides durability and waterproofing protection, and Paraboard™ panels are backed by Siplast’s partnership and stringent quality control.

Storage and handling

Upon delivery, the factory packaging should be removed or slit on all four vertical sides allow for ventilation and to prevent the accumulation of condensation. All roofing products should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct exposure to the elements when storming for more than 14 days prior to installation. Pallets should be covered with a breathable, waterproof covering and stored on a finished surface rather than on first or grass to avoid upward evaporation/transpiration of moisture.

SBS-Modified Bitumen Membrane Systems: The Importance of Ultimate Elongation & Cyclic Fatigue

There are certain physical properties that a high quality SBS-modified bitumen system (e.g., Siplast Paradiene 20/30 system) has that help enable it to maintain performance over decades of service on a roof. It starts with the asphalt blend, which drives some of the physical requirements for long term performance.
