Parsolo® PVC offers excellent long-term weathering and UV resistance in accelerated weathering testing, with a tested value over 19 times higher than required by ASTM D4434 for the G154 Standard.† To evaluate the membrane’s durability against real-world environmental exposure, the effects of UV, sunlight, heat, and moisture are simulated in an accelerated weathering test using fluorescent ultraviolet light (ASTM G154) or a xenon arc lamp (ASTM G155). Parasolo® PVC has been tested at irradiance levels that are double the ASTM D4434 requirement, and passed without cracking or crazing.

Roofing impacts data center energy efficiency primarily through solar reflectance and thermal insulation, which determines the amount of external heat entering the facility. Siplast Parasolo® membranes offer industry-leading 3-year aged Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) values and solar reflectance. By absorbing less solar energy, a highly reflective roof acts as a thermal guard that can help lower the amount of energy needed to keep the building interior cool and potentially reduce cooling costs.‡ This is an essential advantage for data centers, which operate continuously and require stable temperature control.

The specific building envelope requirements for data centers include thermal stability, moisture control, and airtightness which are essential for protecting critical infrastructure facilities.
